Attractions: Large Wreck, Tire Reef, Eel Grass Beds

Dropping down the northern most mooring buoy, head directly out to about 60fsw to run into the tire reef. The reef consists of several large piles of tires housing rockfish, perch and the occasional lingcod. There is a rope connecting the large piles of tires. If you continue north from the end of the tire reef you will come across the remains of a large barge. It is mostly buried in silt and sand now but the size of it is impressive to swim around. However, there is very little life on the barge itself.

Near the beach, there are large beds of sand dollars, an oyster bed and large expanses of sandy bottom that are fun to explore. This would be a great location for beginners if there wasn’t the risk of having to hike your gear down the hill. Good location for crab, perch and flounder. Nice place to snorkel too during the summer where the eel grass is around.
