There are several dives at this site. The jetty on the right has a variety of life including octopus and crab.
The left side of the beach has a pipeline extending from the old foundations of a small building on the shore. If you follow the pipeline to the end and tour to the north there are fields of Metridium anemones on small boulders.
Sea life is plentiful including Sea Otters, Harbor Seals, Sea Lions and a huge variety of other life commonly found in Monterey Bay.
Breakwater Beach is where many of the local dive shops certify students. It can be a busy site on the weekend. I have seen hundreds of divers on the lawn preparing to dive in the spring. This can be a great place to find lost gear on a Monday morning.
Thick kelp beds and boat traffic are some things to consider at this site.
How to get there:
Parking is metered and strictly enforced. Two dive shops are within walking distance.
The Beach is at the intersection of Cannery Row and Foam streets.
