Tiger rockfish at Larry's Lair

Large Rock Formation / Pinnacle, Boulder Pile / Shelves, Kelp Forest, Eel Grass Beds

Lots of invertibrate life. Lots of Rockfish - black, copper, quillback, yellow tale, tiger. A juvenile stellar sealion has been here and swam with the divers before. Very cool.

Special Restrictions:

Dive on an ebb.

How to get there:

Boat dive only. Friday Harbor is the closet harbor. Drop in front of the house with the big glass wall and keep the rocks on your right.

Summer diving so vis was only 15-20, par for location and time of year. Found 3 tiger rockfish! I seldom see these in the San Juans so it was a delight to find them. Also on this dive lots of rockfish, ling cod, mosshead warbonnet, golf-ball crab and Kurt found PS king crabs. Great structure and easy dive along the wall.
