Features
Bottle Field Junk Yard,
Description
Driftwood Island County Park was once used as a garbage dump in years past which now invites divers interested in looking for old bottles and other items.
Enter the water between the two cement pilings directly in front of the little building to the west end of the parking lot. Take a heading straight out or follow the silty slope downward until it flattens out at 60ft.
Start poking around in the silt/sand to locate bottles or other interesting artifacts as years of sediment have buried most of the remaining treasures. This will be easier if there is a mild current to wash away the silt while you search.
Special Restrictions:
Beware of currents during heavy exchanges and boat traffic.
How to get there:
Located in Keystone Harbor just southwest of the Keystone Ferry dock on Whidbey Island. From the Ferry Dock head West along WA-20 for 1.5 miles. Where WA-20 takes a sharp turn to the left you will see the park on the right. Turn right onto West Keystone Avenue and go directly into the parking lot. Park as near as possible to the building to the right as you enter.
