Large Rock Formation / Pinnacle, Boulder Pile / Shelves
Starting from the small cove north of the rock bluff, the Goby Gardens follow the contour of the bluff in a series of ledges that stair-step downward from 35' to 50'. Sand and cobble make up the substrate on the top of each of the ledges. They are home to colorful invertebrates and small fish - including the ever-present black-eyed goby.
This is a dual purpose dive site that presents itself for divers of all skill levels. Novice divers can explore the shallow ledges of Goby Gardens while Advanced divers who want to explore the deep can swim continue downward to Rosie’s Ravine and then explore a shallow reef to the south.
Goby Garden is well sheltered from current and boat traffic. Rosie’s Ravine is at this same location, found by swimming straight east but it deep and should be reserved for advanced divers.
How to get there:
Located about 1.5 miles south of Quatsap Point and about .5 miles north of McDaniel Cove. There is a large rock bluff with houses to the south (left) and a small cove to the north. Anchor close to shore in the small cove in 20' of water. Descend to 35' and head east toward the bluff.
