Wolf Eels and Giant Pacific Octopus , Wall, Large Rock Formation / Pinnacle, Boulder Pile / Shelves
Rosie's Ravine is a deep dive to a wall loaded with wolf eels and octopus. The top of the wall will be encountered at 75' and the ragged cascading bedrock with cracks and crevices drops to 120' and continues in a deep ravine. Large schools of black rockfish, solitary lingcod and large copper rockfish can be seen while inspection of the crevices will uncover giant pacific octopus and many wolf eels. Safety stops can be done in a shallow reef to the south of the bluff as you ascend from the Ravine.
This is a dual purpose dive site that presents itself for divers of all skill levels. Advanced divers who want to explore the deep can venture into the ravine while novice divers can explore the shallow ledges of Goby Garden below the rocky buff.
Rosie's Ravine is deep and should be reserved for advanced divers, but Goby Garden (located below the bluff) are shallow and suitable for divers of all experience levels.
How to get there:
Located about 1.5 miles south of Quatsap Point and about .5 miles north of McDaniel Cove. There is a large rock bluff with houses to the south (left) and a small cove to the north. Anchor close to shore in the small cove in 20' of water. Descend and swim east to locate Rosie's Ravine. If you do not encounter the wall by 90', turn right and continue swimming until you reach it.
