226 Meadow Creek Road, Idaho Falls, ID
Snorkling, Beginner, Intermediate
Access: Moderate Shore Entry
Aquatic Life: 0
Wall, Boulder Pile / Shelves
While there isn't much of anything as far as marine life goes (with the exception of thousands of crawdads), the scenery is mesmerizing. Follow the shoreline a few dozen yards from the dock and it turns into a wall that descends to about 120 feet. There are large boulders and many trees as you descend. Everything is covered in crawdads. Since it is a popular fishing site, it is also a great place to treasure hunt for fishing lures.
The walk down to the dock is a little steep and a little long, so drive down and drop off your gear first, then get dressed and walk back down after parking.
How to get there:
Coming from Idaho Falls, take HWY 26 towards Swan Valley. About 10 Miles out, you'll see the signs pointing to Ririe Dam. Follow the signs, turning on Meadow Creek Road. When you get to the reservoir, follow the signs to the fishing/boat launch. That is your entry point.
