Fisguard Island is a beautiful park and an exciting dive for free divers and snorkelers or newer scuba divers. The dive site is obvious, head out from the shore and out around the island and the rocks. Bottom depths range about 20'-30'. Small invertebrates, starfish and rockfish are everpresent. Ths is a good site for a family outing with plenty to do and explore topside.
Due to the long walk required to reach the water, this site is better suited for snorkeling/free diving as opposed to SCUBA. However, the path is paved and one could access the water if using a cart.
How to get there:
Follow directios to Fort Rodd. (from Island Hwy 1A, you can take Ocean Blvd all the way to Fort Rodd)
If diving this site by shore, follow the path for several hundred yards to the left of the fort to the water and enter on either side of the spit of land leading to the lighthouse. Dive out around the rocks and island.
