Boulder Pile / Shelves, Eel Grass Beds
A nice dive with reef structures spotted with colorful invertebrate life including including sea hares, nudibranchs, sponges, stars and anemones plus fish such as opaleye, sheephead, calico bass, and senorita wrass. Less fish than nearby Refugio State Beach, but no parking fees, easy shore access and a large reef make this a pleasant dive site.
As with all sites in the area, beware of surf and current.
How to get there:
Located about 20 miles from Santa Barbara on Hwy 101 heading toward San Luis Obispo. Park in the small parking lot along southbound 101 and walk to the water. The reef is off to your right (west).
