Description

Spring Bay is a popular shore dive due to its accessibility and ease, with a good variety of natural rocky reef structure and life. From the beach you can explore to either the right or left and depths up to about 60. The farther right you travel the more life you will encounter but the more the current increases. If you continue to the right it will eventually connect with Ten Mile Point wall.

Special Restrictions:

Beware of the current as you leave the protection of the bay, it increases as you head to the right toward Ten Mile Point. You could exit at Ten Mile Point if necessary. Beware of heavy kelp.

How to get there:

Spring Bay is located near Ten Mile Point. Follow Cadboro Bay Rd to Seaview Rd and turn right. Take your first left onto Tudor which will take you all the way to a small parking lot at Spring Bay.

We dove the cove for a ittle whie and then drifted the current along the reef to Ten Mile Point. The reef outsde the point is pretty full of life, including octopus dens under the ledges. It is an easy drift out and the cove back eddies so you can swim toward shore and get out of the current to return to the entry point. The cove has less to look at but there are small creatures tucked between the rocks o the bottom.
