10 Mile Point
Victoria, Vancouver, BC
Access: Difficult Shore Entry
Aquatic Life: 5
The wall directly in front of the entry point is the best portion of this dive site and you may be able to remain on this section of the wall during small exchanges. The current tends to move east (to the right) from the entry point at White Rock Street toward an exit point path around the corner, three houses down from the point.
The wall begins at about 30-40' deep and drops to about 80' and is covered with invertebrates and small fish such as sculpin. You may even see octopus climbing around.
Beware of strong current and choppy waters. There is kelp to the right of the entry point in the shallow areas. This site is a marine preserve. Spear fishing and collecting are prohibited. Beware of hooks and line.
How to get there:
Ten Mile Point is found on the Southeast point of Victoria Island in the Haro Strait. Click the google link to view driving directions. Enter the water from the parking lot at the end of White Rock Street.
