Scalloped Jellyfish  (Solmissus spp.)

This category includes the several species found around the world referred to as Scalloped Jellies. It includes the Scalloped Jellyfish and Dinner Plate Jellyfish. They are nearly unadorned except for a thin scalloped shaped ridge around the bell near the tentacles. They may remain motionless, drifting in the water or pulsate. Common species tend grow up to 4" across the bell.
