Red Brotula  (Brosmophycis marginata)

A reclusive fish rarely seen and even more rarely seen in the open. They will often pair off and stay in one location for long periods of time. They inhabit the deep end of recreational diving limits and beyond, in some kind of dwelling such as a rocky crevice or small den. The are easily identified by the bright rusty or maroonish red body that is void of pattern. they have long dorsal and ventral fins that start far back on their bodies and extend all the way along their elongated bodies to the tail.
