Pacific Sanddab  (Citharichthys sordidus)

The Pacific Sanddab is a common left-eyed flatfish found along the entire pacific coast of North America. Growing up to 16" in length it is often sought after by fishermen.

It is identifiable by mottled pattern on the body often accented with orange speckles and very long pectoral fin, that would appear as though it could reach past the eyes if extended backwards. It also has a bony ridge between its large eyes that sit close to the end of the head. The tail has a small curve to it, and its lateral line is straight.
